Upgraded my #OnePlus 6T to #Android 11 via #LineageOS.

The official stock ROM from OnePlus still won't get it until the end of the year, at best — one year later than the Android 11 release.

I'm extremely happy that LineageOS exists. They usually release new versions of Android much later than the manufacturers (as it takes time and LineageOS is a volunteer effort), but OnePlus is just that slow lately. 😔

@garrett agreed! (from my #OnePlus #5t running #LineageOS)

@K_REY_C I was surprised at how smooth and relatively painless the upgrade was from LineageOS 17.1 to 18.1. Basically, just flash the new version (and gapps) and done.

...Which is also known as a "dirty flash", as I didn't wipe clean and flash from scratch. But it works! 👍

Everything's great in Android 11 too.

(Here I was with configuration exports of the important apps and backups of all the data I could back up. Glad none of that was needed! 😁)

@garrett me too. Everything seems to have become much easier, which is great! It's great to not need the backup!
@garrett @K_REY_C I've found, over many years of flashing roms, that a dirty flash works well as long as you keep going forward.
