I love the complexity of @SuricrasiaOnline's #shader. I like that it has created an actual object that is moving around; a bit like a mechanical arm in a factory dancing to music. On the other hand I'm a sucker for technicolour swirling colours as displayed in #Cosamentale's production. I guess ideally I'd see them both combined. ;)
Anyway, Blackle, congrats on your victory! Well-deserved!

#Evvvvil is once again not disappointing! Gorgeous scene, camera movement, colours and lighting effects!

#ShaderShowdown #Revision2021

now time for #Flopine vs #Wrighter with a DJ set by #h0ffman

Loved the entry of reigning #ShaderShowdown champion #Flopine
#Wrighter's was neat too, but I like seeing a recognisable scene. :)
Flopine's #GLSL #shader gave me a bit of a #PrinceOfPersia vibe. Especially liked the glowing cube.

@FiXato I had the opposite reaction:

"hmm, Flopine did a demo like this, and it is not quite escher enough... but wrighter's is clean and pops with the music."

So I took away points for doing something recognizable (: I like when they take risks (:

@Truck fair point :)

I'm curious btw: do you think it's only the end-result that counts, or also how entertaining the entire creation process was?

In other words, how would you compare a shader that's impressive near the end, but was mostly just a blank screen throughout the majority of the block, to one that was less impressive at the end, but was showing a clear progression throughout?

@FiXato it depends;

A> I remember the Assembly final where it was black screens for a full 24 minutes on BOTH sides, Okkie hyping the crowd for black screens, and all of us trying to figure out what was going on with both shaders. (Both coders had render bugs they were working through the ENTIRE time.)
That was impressive because it was "ok, they fixed the bug and have no time now"

B> is it the same shader they have used in the last 8 showdowns? Then I'm not really thrilled, I mean, it's the same thing, different inputs. I don't care for this type of sizecoded production, which is sort of what this ends up being. (And I've told evvvvvil this, which is where I'm glad he's doing more chances and iterating differently. End result is better overall, due to the risk.)

C> What is the iteration throughout? Was it really impressive, then a risk at the end which caused it to go all wonky? Then I'm going with the majority of the time.

@Truck I guess that makes sense; thanks :)
