@h3artbl33d "reduce pollingy 90%"
I wish Firefox would take notice... and can we please have a proper dark/night mode for website rendering, not just a pathetic border theme...
The Lama kicked ass with theming back in the nineties... (aka WinAmp)
@h3artbl33d 'pollingy' == 'polling by'...
because firefox missed a few keystrokes there, too busy choking up CPU cores.
@uuim Are you running on an ancient system or perhaps something that is considered "very energy efficient"? If not, what is your apm policy?
@h3artbl33d dude, webbrowsers and add-ons have had performance problems for DECADES. We can't invent hardware cycles fast enough for software jerks to waste it with bad engineering. I'm an ex sysadmin. I know. Dont argue with my bitter, hard earned experience. IT IS NOT ME OR MY HARDWARE, ITS THE FUCKING WHOLE IT INDUSTRY ATTITUDE OF PRETENDING THAT THIS IS NORMAL.
I shouldn't have to buy a damn Ryzen laptop, just to display a dumb website! WTF!

@uuim Sorry - totally agreed with that. Didn't mean to offend or insult you. Setting the -H flag for apmd, rather than -A tends to give marginally "less worse" performance on my system.

But it shouldn''t have to matter if both browsers and the web weren't the complete clusterfucks they are.

The industry - as a whole - should ditch this malicious practice and switch back to the basics. HTML, CSS and a small, select subset of JS (at most). No serverside JS, no Vue, Angular, React. Ditch [1/2]

@uuim the complete clusterfuck of APIs such as WebUSB, WebRTC, "Workers", etc.

Stop fucking up the web. Period. [2/2]
