Steven Roose#TIL there is a economic metric called "non-farm employment", seemingly mostly used in the USA.
#Investopedia explains, however:
> In addition to farm workers, nonfarm payrolls data also excludes some government workers, private households, proprietors, and non-profit employees.
I wonder what's the reasoning behind this metric, Investopedia doesn't seem to know.
