When I drawterm to my presumed (and confirmed with [l] in the VPS Maintenance Shell) already running plan9 I sometimes get a "Plan 9 Console" blank and unresponsive to keys or mouse. So I close the drawterm and do [s] [r] from maintmenu and rerun the drawterm and this worked until today when:
"cpu: cannot read ticket request in p9sk1: '/mnt/factotum/ctl' does not exist
goodbye"
Anyone got any idea what changed?

@rat [r] on VPS console reboots Plan 9, so you need to send your keys on factotum once more, then call aux/listen1 once again to allow drawterm to connect to the CPU. I recommend using [c] if your Plan 9 shell was already started before -- you can always do ^] to leave it anytime and keep it running

@alchemist yes of course it all works as before now :o). Thanks for the link I'd already assembled the info from other notes and tutorials but that's a nice clear summary. Three rounds of [x] fresh install start again following the same instructions seems to have cracked it so am back to where I expected. Huzzah :oD. #definitelynotusererror
