Growing up, I would often eat this weird but delicious Sino-Viet-Italian fusion food for dinner, my brother would call it "Chintalian" food. 😂 My parents are Chinese but were born and raised in Vietnam, so that explains the first two parts. No idea how the Italian came about though. Maybe Mum had Italian friends who shared recipes. Maybe the recipes came from all the magazines she collected. Who knows. 😝

In tribute of this bizarre three-way fusion cuisine, I made Bột Chiên for dinner tonight. That's rice cakes stir fried with eggs. I also threw in Guanciale, cured pork jowl, that's the Italian bit. Rich, smoky, savoury. Not a very pretty dish but definitely transported me back to those fond food memories. ❤️

Actually make that a four-way fusion because I drizzled a little bit of El Yucateco Chipotle sauce on top for heat. Chintalietnamex food!
