It's the 2nd book in this setting but you don't need to read the first to get whats happening here, it just gives a little extra context into one of the background characters.

One of the 2 main characters is a Black Trans woman with a minor super power and I'm really excited about this book! #ForHireMag

so there is a book publishing thing called #PitMad and my friends are trying to get picked up by a publisher for the third book in this series Which I'm excited to check out.

The two trans characters I know of in the series probably won't be in this one as it is a prequel before it would make sense for either of them to be involved but still excited about more black queer super heroes. (or young future super heroes? idk who this time thing works.)

If folks interested in #SuperHeroes #BlackProtagonists #BlackSuperHeroes #QueerSuperHeroes #FemaleProtagonists or #BlackQueerSuperHeroes could give a teeny tiny boost.

Also if you haven't read any of the first 2 books they are pretty good and quick reads. I don't know if it is still going on but recently half the profits for the 2nd book were going to the Okra Project if that's an incentive to pick the series up.

@Sekolezizwe I am neither of the authors in this series. I was a sensitivity reader for the 2nd book for their trans protagonist and am friends with the co-authors but not directly involved in the writing other then being a big fan.
