For URL cleaning I used to use Tidy URL, but it stopped working, and then Link Cleaner+, which includes an old-reddit redirect, but it doesn't include e.g. Medium source=post_page-----7fa4ea310729----------------------.

ClearURLs is in the recommended list, and it claims to have 200+ rules for making the web a better hyperlink document medium. Looks good so far.

Sure am! And it is!

Rather than flipping those redirects on and off, I just use Klar, and also Bromite or Fennec in Incognito Mode, as my hypocrite browsers, and if a video is broken in inviduous, just copy the link and run it in NewPipe instead of the browser, and I get that popup or background functionality so I can fry my attention neurons and see that conf presentation while also browsing fedi.

Klar is too good and forgets cookies too aggressively, that's why I use Bromite and Fennec. Fennec for face, and Bromite for twit (as Fennec has that nitter redirect installed).

I use privacy director, it has invidious, nitter, bibliogram and osm and switches for all of them. I don't need more than that but that universal redirector seems nifty I'll remember that if I need something like that.

@charlag now that I am at my PC again, I was able to look at both what mastodon.social's WebUI shows and what the API returns, and it looks like you are right.

@[email protected] do you have any idea why #Fedilab doesn't make all the anchors in @clacke's OP into clickable links?
