Okay, I am trying to understand the use of Essential Services Maintenance Act in declaring #TSRTCstrike illegal. Before anything, we will be referring to two government orders and two acts. Links to all of them in next toot. Some one who understands how to read these, please help ! 1/4 #SaveTSRTC

Government of Telangana notified Motor Transport Industry in the state a "Public Utility Service" under Industrial Disputes Act 2019. In a government order issued later, the government prohibited strikes in TSRTC for a period of six months using ESM Act. But, ESM Act requires the state government to notify TSRTC as essential service. was this notification done ? If not, how can the government claim strike is illegal ? 3/4 #SaveTSRTC #TSRTCstrike
This is not the first time they issued a Government Order prohibiting strikes though. These are just some of the notifications in the gazette. This is a standard operating procedure for the government. Wait for the unions to organize, sense they are going to give strike notice, issue a GO and circular prohibiting strikes. If only, they were as forthcoming in engaging with the unions. 4/4 #SaveTSRTC #TSRTCstrike
