On today's #DogWalk I photographed hairy things.

I posted about Fox Moth caterpillars, last year.

Attached: 1 image Lots of these caterpillars around, this week. Fox Moth - Macrothylacia rubi Almost all of the ones I saw were in this typical vertical position, on stems of grass. This is a male, and was about 6-7cm long. Males have a red tinge, whereas females are greyish. It had only recently stopped raining. #nature #macro #photo #photography #Highlands #Scotland

@fitheach
We saw a lot of hairy caterpillars when we did the John Buchan way last Saturday.
@fitheach What does Neachdainn make of the cattle? Chase-worthy or no?

@alysonsee
Definitely chase-worthy. The fact he hardly reaches their ankles doesn't make a difference. Strangely, the cattle are happy to oblige Neachdainn, by running off. If the cattle stood still, I suspect, Neachdainn wouldn't know what to do.

Consequently, I have to keep Neachdainn on an imaginary leash. A quick "oi!" if I sense he wants to give them a chase, and that brings him back to my side

@fitheach That's a well-trained dog. Nice work.
@alysonsee
I don't bother him with any instructions during a walk, except for interventions to protect him and others. Whenever I do, and he reacts in the right way, he gets a reward. Seems to work.
