I started glancing at my bare wrist for the time (as if to check a watch) years ago because I thought it was funny. Eventually it caught on in my head and now I legitimately search for the time on my wrist despite the fact that I have never worn a watch

@violet it is funny, I do it sometimes too. but usually as a joking-ish way of indicating I want to get out of a conversation. If you do it without particular purpose, that is funnier.
