@EdgarAllanFoe some white folk thought tomatoes were poisonous and would only eat them if boiled till there wasn't any red

They'd watch native Americans eat em and just thought it was a crazy difference between races

It was on account of the acid in the tomato reacting to the silver on the plates. It literally made the tomatoes poisonous. But only when eaten off a silver dish.
