@rugk @aral Synergy 1 is full opensource, Synergy 2 only the core, the GUI isn't.
Plus the CEO of the company is a dumb asshole.

@dashie @rugk OMFG, I just read their privacy policy:

“Storing your personal data on Google Drive (a cloud storage service). As our storage is hosted, your information is protected by the security measures put in place by Google.“

Oh, well. That was nice while it lasted.

@aral @rugk yup, Synergy 2 uses a cloud too, and the cloud part can't be self hosted since not opensource too.

@aral @dashie yeah okay, that's crazy...

I guess they just use Google's Cloud services (so technically not drive, of course).
However, AFAIK, at least after connecting the devices it works p2p, so no data from your devices is send anywhere.

Still bad, of course.
