hm… this web UI has some room for improvement. e.g. adjust scroll-position of a column if new content is added, so that I don't click buttons on the wrong toot…

next questions would be where the code is, if I can change it, where I find the time to actually follow through on this…

@rodneyrehm A really good (and accessible) alternative for the "original UI" is pinafore.social by @nolan . I was never a fan of Tweetdeck and the user experience on pinafore is so much - in lack of a better word - calmer
@marcus @rodneyrehm Thanks! :) And yeah, the scroll position is one thing Pinafore does differently. New content only pops into view if you're scrolled to the top; otherwise it just adds a button to show more.

Yes, #pinafore is more how I like it, but it seems to miss push notifications with closed browser? It's supported with the original ui. I love that Feature and won't miss it...

I'm not sure we could do this in a privacy-respecting way. I'd really prefer not to handle any user data server-side. Perhaps it would be possible to extend the Mastodon server API to allow...
