genuinely wondering what the advantage is to moving to the bitcoinhackers.org instance? Is it just that we generally trust @nvk to not delete everyone? or is there some other benefit?
@bottomshelfbtc @nvk well Beautyon had his account shut down on this instance earlier today. Doubt it will happen to most but there is censorship here as well
@hollowring oh for real? that was fast 😬
Was any reason given?
@bottomshelfbtc didn't see anything. He just made a new account on the bitcoinhackers dot org...assume it was something Infowars related

@bottomshelfbtc
@nvk

Good Q. I'm new but it seems main problem is instances disappearing and users losing all their data.

I'm assuming the homepage algo shows people in instance since I dont follow anyone yet and all I see is BTC

@bottomshelfbtc @nvk The local timeline is full of bitcoin related posts, whereas the local timeline of mastodon.social is random posts.
@hardmoney @bottomshelfbtc @nvk I haven't been able to tell the difference between Home, Local and Federated timelines inside @bitcoinhackers.org
@chowcollection @bottomshelfbtc @nvk you are right... I don't think @nvk enabled federation. mastodon.social federation was the wild west...
