Graffiti without Gravity: winner announcement by European Space Agency

Watch European Space Agency's Graffiti without Gravity: winner announcement on Livestream.com. ESA and The Hague Street Art joined forces to create 'collisions' between space exploration and the street art community. On 18 May, ten European top street artists + 2 'wildcards' created masterpieces, spray-painting 2m x 2m canvasses inspired by a visit to the ESTEC facilities and space exploration. The event was a 'border session': it took place on the ground between the ESA/ESTEC recreational field and the Space Expo. At the end of the long painting day, a four-member jury ranked all the paintings and announced their selection of the best three artworks. But that was only the start: their ranking only determines 50% of the final result. Public voting shall decide the other 50%! Public voting took place on ESA's www.instagram.com/graffitiwithoutgravity between 18 May and 1 June 2018. The winning artist can prepare for a very special prize: he or she will become the first street artist to make a completely weightless work of street art: Graffiti without Gravity! The prize is in fact a seat on a ZERO-G company commercial parabolic flight funded by the sponsors. On Monday 11 June between 15:00 and 17:00 CEST, the winner of the art contest will be announced at the ESA-ESTEC Erasmus Innovation Centre in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.
