HomeTech Giveaway

Wow... woke up to a shoutout in the #Zooz newsletter today. This was awesome. Got another video in the works for this week. Stay tuned.

My weekend projects have arrived.

Migrating from my #zooz and #sonoff hubs to #homeassistant hubs. Moving my other hubs to the office so I can start my seed watering automations 😎

I received this sticker in my delivery of Zooz Z-wave devices this week and, well, I love it! Though I will say, we’ve been running Home Assistant for years now and it’s been rock solid.

If you have a #Zooz ZST39, a firmware update was released in June. It may be worth it to check and update if you haven't in a while and experience any z-wave issues.

I've had random lock ups (very few) that were only resolved with a power cycle of the device. Lets see if this firmware update helps with that.

The update in #HomeAssistant was extremely fast and easy for me.

This just arrived in the mail. Zigbee and Zwave (with the Zooz ZAC39) in one device all powered by PoE and works with #HomeAssistant.

#homeAssistant shenanigans continues. I had to cut in a deeper box due to the size of these #zooz switches, and ended up just going with a 3 gang due to all the other wires that came into the box (2 separate outlet runs also exit here).
I mostly like these switches, but I’m not crazy about the little delay that’s caused by the switch waiting to detect a double-tap, and I’m not finding a way to disable it. It’s a shame, ‘cause both #zwave and WiFi coms are really snappy.
I will die mad about the aluminum wire in this house (and hopefully not -From- it!). Fortunately I’ve seen Noalox on any re-work, and I’m being super diligent about using it as well.
I know there’s mixed feelings about #wago connectors for line voltage. I’m going to keep an eye on them, but they were a lot easier than wire nuts, as specially since I didn’t have a lot of slack to work with.
There was no way I could have crammed all this into a 2 gang box, and I’m glad I didn’t try.

Anyone seeing zwave errors in their home assistant logs? Been getting the below error a lot recently for some reason. No dead nodes or anything. I have the Zooz ZST39 controller with the latest firmware and am using zwave-js. It seems to just randomly have issues sending commands in some automations and they are only sending a few at that time.

"zwave_error: Z-Wave error 202 - Failed to send the command after 1 attempts (ZW0202)"

Today was a good day to update the firmware in my #Zooz zwave controller. I was a few versions behind and it looks like it had a few fixes to help with reliability. Latest version was released in August.

If you are dealing with lockups or slowness this may be worth it.

It’s not too hard to do. Can be done directly in #HomeAssistant or you can use the PC Controller software.

I’m stoked to see #zwave firmware updates offered directly in #HomeAssistant now! I’m currently updating a #Zooz in wall switch over the air! /cc @homeassistant
