I think in season 5 we found out that #GulDukat lost his whole family when he took #Ziyal back to Cardassia. His wife took the children, and his family disowned him, and I thought, "Aw...."

With this episode it's like, "Oh! Ok, now I get it."

I did not see #ReturnToGrace, so I did not realize #GulDukat lost his whole family after he took #Ziyal back to Cardassia. She was basically the only family he had left; everyone else (parents, wife) had disowned him.

Then #Damar killed her right in front of him, right after he had lost DS9.😳
