I finally replaced my giant Fractal Node 804 home server with the ZimaBoard 2!

In my new video, I explore the hardware, test the PCIe slot with a GPU, and set up a compact NAS using ZimaOS. It is amazing how much power you can get out of such a small footprint.

So das neue NAS ist einsatzbereit. Das (proprietäre) Betriebssystem würde ich gerne ersetzen. Jetzt ist die Frage mit was. #ZimaOS, #TrueNAS, #Proxmox
Soll auch nicht-Nerd-Kompatibel sein.

@jlw_the_jobber I had a bit of a bump, trying to remount my existing RAID drives in CasaOS without losing their data. The UI doesn't support that, and trying to hack it in place myself, not understanding anything about immutable distros, I kinda sorta got it working (assembled and mounted and smb shared), but couldn't get it to show up properly in the #ZimaOS UI.

I switched my little media streaming server back over to #ZimaOS from #Ubuntu. What a difference. Everything is just much easier to manage, especially for someone that in not too familiar in the home #networking/#homelab scene.

I like to tinker, but for this computer I just want it to work.

MacMini-Test:

Immich hat auch mit 1 Klick funktioniert samt externem Speicher. Lediglich für das Zusatzsskript für die Zuordnung "bestehende Ordner auf externem Speicher --> Alben in Immich" musste ich den Befehl via SSH ausführen

Da sich gerade jemand danach erkundig hat, ob ZimaOS auch mit virtuellen Maschinen umgehen kann - teste ich zwar nicht, aber eine entsprechende Funktion ist vorgesehen:
