When I lived in #Belgium in the early 2000s, I regularly participated in the railtours organised by the Belgian railfan association #PFT #TSP. The photos posted here date back to 2009. They were taken on the occasion of a trip to #Oostende, #Zeebrugge and #Brugge. We travelled on board these Class 44 and 45 railcars.

@ErikJonker @geopolitics Last time I checked, there was still a lot of #Russian #LNG coming in #Zeebrugge #Belgium and being moved further into #Germany and elsewhere, leading to #Belgium being one of #Germany's non-#Russian #gas suppliers, even though #Belgium produces no #gas.

So many issues:
1) #DE does not accept #Russian #LNG, but other countries in the #EU do (hello #BE #Zeebrugge) and hence #DE imports indirectly.
2) #DE has a running contract with #Russia and although it is not taking shipments, #DE is still paying for the contracted amounts!
3) #Russia gets paid for the contracted amounts, does not ship to #DE and then sells the #LNG a second time (which may be delivered indirectly to #DE)
