#ThrowbackThursday Back in 2020, I visited this old palace of a Zamindar (autonomous or semi-autonomous ruler of an area) in Kashipur, Chuadanga. It was built in 1861 by Minay & Vinay Kumar.

The Zamindars were maternal uncles of famous author, Saratchandra Chattopadhyay. Once Saratchandra came to visit his uncles and saw their oppression towards the villagers. This inspired him to write his famous short story 'Mahesh'
