What finally helped with my thousands of photos, analog and digital, was using this format to organize both folders and files*:

*spouse just told me this younger generation don't know what those are (How?!!).

Terry Hancock (Director/Producer) (@TerryHancock)

Notes, documentation, archives, and photos really appreciate with age. They seem unimportant, even trivial when you're creating them, let along organizing or labeling them. Seems like a waste of time. But a few years later, these things are precious! But if you wait until they are valuable, you forget things, and organizing is much harder. It's better to do it as you go, but takes some discipline. 💿📝📚

Computers are great for sorting fir searching, and some types of storage.

A physical item could have more than 2 pages of Metadata. Taxonomies, folksonomies, with tagging and keywords and more, oh my!

But which do you use to actually find the physical object. The location, where it's located?

And what if you use that one yourself, but someone else chooses something different?

I still use my Cue Cat (USB A) I got from the LibraryThing website. Was wonderful for cataloging my way too many books.
