Related to my last post, I’m in the City of Victoria for a medical appt. this morning and cargo bikes are a common sighting here now. I still get excited when I see them, but it goes beyond that… it makes me happy and optimistic to see the normalization of cargo bikes as a mode of transportation and alternative to car dependency.

It would be interesting to look at the gender gap of cycling rates in the different municipalities of Greater Victoria. I know the rates are higher in the City of Victoria where they have created a true network of AAA infrastructure but I’d bet the gender gap is smaller there compared to municipalities with paint only bike lanes, sharrows, and/or disappearing bike lanes. #yyjbike
We took a ride along the new Tolmie Avenue protected bike lane in Victoria, BC with cherry blossoms in bloom.
This links the Galloping Goose Regional Trail with the Graham-Jackson bicycle boulevard and connects residential streets with a commercial area. #yyjbike #biketooter #victoriabc #bikelanes
