and on Thursday, my favorite local youth non-profit, First Exposures is having their annual fundraiser. With a black and white darkroom and sharing space with the amazing Youth Speaks non-profit, First Exposures uses photography as a medium for mentoring and I've been involved for over ten years there. The event, Looking Forward, Giving Back, is a really fun one where often the youth are showing their work in a gallery setting for the first time and many mentors and other notable photographers also have art in the auction to raise funds for the program.
