A mid-1800s gushet tenement between Old Dumbarton Road and Yorkhill Street in the west of Glasgow. The flat, but recessed corner wall is a feature I've not spotted elsewhere in the city.

The old sign for the former Royal Hospital for Such Children on Dalnair Street in the Yorhill area of Glasgow has been re-painted since I last photographed it a couple of years ago. However, while it's good to see it is being preserved, I can't help thinking it would have been better just to clean it up as it's lost some of its previous charm.

A section of William Hunter McNab's drill hall on the corner of Yorkhill Street and Carfrae Street in the Kelvinhaugh area of Glasgow. Built in 1901, it's a mix of castellated Tudoresque and Arts and Crafts styles. The inscription above the door indicates it was used as the headquarters of the 6th Battalion of the Highland Light Infantry

Family Department ghost sign on the side of the Brunch Club on Old Dumbarton Road in the west of Glasgow. There has been a pub or restaurant of some kind or other on this site since 1888, and this sign presumably dates from a time when women weren't widely welcome in pubs. Instead, the Family Department was where they could buy alcohol for comsumption at home.

Love this decorated oculus on the 1904 St Vincent Masonic Halls on Overnewton Street in the west of Glasgow. I particularly like the face on what I think is the rising sun just starting to make an appearance at the bottom.
