So yeah. #YellowJackets is a gender-swapping of #LordOfTheFlies combined with #Alive (the true story of a soccer team who crashed in the Andes and ate their frozen dead friends). Of course, there's way more going on with YJ, but I believe the origins lie firmly in both of those books!

OMGs! So, we're watching the TV show #YellowJackets and I recognized one of the actresses -- #NicoleMaines, daughter of #WayneMaines. I worked with her dad, and I remember him crowing about his daughter, and how he had been Republican until he realized that they did NOT have his daughter's best interests in mind...

"Nicole Amber Maines (born 1997) is an American actress, comic book writer and #transgender rights activist. Prior to her acting career, she was the anonymous plaintiff in the #Maine Supreme Judicial Court case Doe v. Regional School Unit 26, in which she argued her school district could not deny her access to the female bathroom for being transgender. The court ruled in 2014 that barring transgender students from the school bathroom consistent with their gender identity is unlawful, the first such ruling by a state court.
