This appears to be a queen V. squamosa. I have no idea how she got on my windshield wiper, what she’s doing there now, or why she didn’t leave sometime during my five mile drive across town with a stop to get gas along the way. She just sat there wiggling about the whole time. #Insect #Entomology #YellowJacket

It’s not a story but it’s about a “bee” and a bolt.
Used the bolt as a life raft to pick it up out of cold water as the sun was coming up… very lethargic for a couple minutes… out in the sun, it showed greater signs of life and within minutes, climbed around a bit, cleaned its antennae, saluted me, and flew off.
… I guess there was a story… and I might have gone a little overboard with how many pictures of the same exact subject 😬
