Year of the serpent 🐍

This is probably my most epic shot of all time, taken deep into the Amazon rainforest of Parque Nacional do Viruá, Roraima state in Brazil. It was a long and hard trail of about 5km to reach a specific place that we wanted to go search for praying mantises. Close to the place, exiting the trail, we found ourselves in front of this snake, disturbed by our presence but just trying to leave peacefully. We got a little closer just to take some photos, then saw her disappear into the dark forest.
