Historical journal statistics for 2023

Range: 2023, January 1st to 2023, December 31st
Word count (all 4 parts): 1,921,495
Character count (all 4 parts): 13,072,989
Page count (all 4 parts): 8,218

The eighth yearly journal volume, the document was so large, that it had to be split in 4 (as I don't have any office software capable of handling rich text documents 500 megabytes or larger) note that a large portion of it is notes, which can carry over from previous days. The actual word/character count is likely at least 50% smaller than listed.

I have been keeping a daily journal since 2016, September 27th. It is a very extensive project, and has come a long ways. It is part of a wider project, known as the Sean Patrick Myrick Life Archive (alternatively: Seanpm2001 Life Archive) I plan to release it into the public domain in the future, likely in 2040. The journal has the challenge of covering events from before 2016, September 27th. It is a very extensive log, and has thousands of hours of time put into it. #journal #diary #lifearchive #life #lifestory #book #books #seanpm2001 #seanpm2001lifearchive #2040

Definitely curious why strict numbers become non-link, not searchable hashtags.

One thing I've noticed is that #Mastodon doesn't convert hash + number into a #tag. So, for example, #2023 won't cut it, you have to go with something like #Y2023. I'm not sure how feel about it. It probably helps with false positives for small numbers (I'm #1, for example), but does it make sense for larger numbers? Tagging a year is something you'd expect to be โ€ฆ well-practiced.

๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป Spent the evening customizing Obsidian. I have it all ready for my #y2023 note taking year. I've kept it pretty minimalistic and simple. It works better for me to have several vaults. I archived a bunch of folders -- won't be needing to open these very often, but also available if I need to find something. Whee.... ๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŽ‰

Time is an illusion (lunchtime, doubly so). I never quite got used to 2022, and now it's almost 2023. Is this just a getting-old thing, or a general 2020s thing?  #OldePhart #y2022 #y2023 #NewYearsEve (because you can't do digit-only hashtags)
