Finally tested wayback with dwm on Slackware -current! 🎉

wayback is a stub Wayland compositor that hosts a rootful Xwayland server, letting you run your full X11 setup unchanged on top of Wayland. Built from source, wrote a small launch script and dwm came up fine with st.

Still experimental and needs some tweaking but the core concept works — keep your dwm, st and all your suckless tools, just drop Xorg underneath.

If you're a minimalist X11 user not ready to jump to a Wayland WM, keep an eye on this project!

Im currently at 1600x900 both at sddm and desktop, The problem is that uppon logging in to x11 the cursor becomes small again to 1920x1080 and then it goes back to normal aka 1600x900 after some se...

It's wild to me that apparently Xorg has literally 4 FUCKING YEARS worth of patches in the master branch, literally thousands, that just never got merged into stable because "X is dead" became a dogmatic statement, to the detriment of anyone who prefers Xfce or whatever. And no, this doesn't mean I think XLibre is a good project or whatever. I think it's dogshit. The main reason XLibre is maddening to me is because Enrico Weitgeit is an insane, toxic crank of a man. But he's also literally the only person to have even bothered doing anything with X for years. He did deserve his ban from FDo. He does suck. His project sucks. It's just ludicrous that it was even necessary. My favorite part is that screen tearing was a solved issue 5 years ago but never got pushed to the stable branch for… reasons?

My windows get auto-resized (usually shrunk but at times expanded) when coming out of the screensaver

Each time my computer goes to sleep the windows change their size. Sometimes they appear bigger, but most of the time, they are smaller. It's hard to tell by how much. Maybe a "titlebar"
