Finished testing toolpaths on the New Perspectives #Bass kit. Only broke two 0.024” carbide end mills dialing in the feeds and speeds. Next up is processing the hardwood for the final version. I decided to take a break on the tiny house build this past weekend instead I finished up my new x-carve table so I can get that back in action!

Due to the amount of space this monster takes up I decided I wanted to be able to fold it down to take up less space. Now it only sticks out 31in from the wall when collapsed and I can roll it out on the workshop deck in nice weather, a real bonus since it produces a ton of dust when running..even with a vacuum running!

No project is really complete without failures—and boy this one's had a few. I was over 80% of the way through this cut, and the stock jogged out of the workholding. Swearing ensued. #MakeSomething #CNCMill #XCarve

Well, I've got most of the weirdnesses ironed out regarding using my #xcarve with the #chrome #gcode sender app. Unfortunately I managed to break both my 1/32 #endmills , which are the only ones fine enough to do what I'm working on. So, my #dopaminebox is on hold. #grrrr... now it's off to #Amazon to buy more... #2023 #creating #helpyourfutureself #blaidddrwg

More #introduction content. Here are a few examples of some of my CNC work. The @makemagazine Makey is painted MDF as are the others. Empire Of Dust is how I refer to my shop with apologies to YouTuber AvE. The @NASA Apollo 11 plaque was made in honor of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. The Once on This Island sign was made for my kid who had a nice role in a summer camp production.

Hey, my fellow #maker #nerds. We're looking at getting a #3dprinter to go with our #xcarve router... we're leaning towards an enclosed model to better control temperature, and is like to to run #GRBL (though all small scale CNC might, I'm not sure). Any recommendations?
