(This post is a repost in English of my post from January about the W Social)

The people behind W Social (the new EU-based social networking site) are only succeeding in demonstrating their incompetence so far: broken TLS certificate for the www subdomain for example. Also, many domains related to wsocial.eu, for example, with other TLDs or very similar ones, haven't been registered. As a result, many people have started registering these domains. I know about w-social.eu, wsocial.it ( @_elena ), wsocial.cz ( @kayla ), and, the one I registered, wsocial.pl. Most of these sites are, in one way or another, encouraging people to take an interest in the Fediverse 🙃 I'm curious to see how the W Social management will react when they learn (because they certainly don't know yet 👀) that a European alternative to American social media has long existed. I'd also like to mention that the aforementioned Elena (who, by the way, is the author of the video you can watch on wsocial.pl and thanks to whom I learned about the whole thing) is preparing something big on this topic.

PS wsocial.pl is literally the first website I've written from scratch, so any criticism is welcome 👉👈

I'm looking for some trustworthy background & context on #WSocial, that allegedly up-and-coming Twitter-killer I don't see anyone talk about. Is it federated? Does it interoperate with the #Fediverse or #ATProto?

Any one remember when #wsocial was going to "fix social media"? A lesson: don't announce a product if you don't have anything to show.
