Local/nearby (Shelburne Falls MA) folk rock singer-songwriter Jeffrey Foucault has a new album, "The Universal Fire." The title track is the song being featured but this is the cut being played on our local radio superstation, WRSI.

RADIO STATION MOBILE APP

WRSI, The River, one of my two favorite music radio stations, has finally produced a mobile app; and it's a good one. For one important thing, they did not see a need to put the artist name and song title in microtext. With the WRSI app, that information is easily readable.

WRSI has a vast, varied playlist, which is particularly apparent during night hours, USA Eastern time.

The app seems to be WRSI's little secret. I searched the station's website and found nothing. Right afterwards, I checked my phone's app store, found and downloaded the WRSI app for free, and the first song played was by Greg Brown, who I posted about yesterday. Nice touch. This morning, the WRSI PSA about how to listen STILL made no mention of the mobile app.

Why not give the WRSI mobile app a try?

WRSI: The River, with studios in Northampton, Massachusetts, is not to be confused with the Boston-area radio station, WXRV: The River.

I use my phone for radio listening so much that I usually refer to it as my radio.

Staff at a terrific radio station, WRSI with studios in Northampton, Massachusetts, picked Dan Hicks as their favorite act several years in a row. So, while I have heard them a lot on WRSI and elsewhere, this is the first time I have actually seen Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks. The experience is worth the wait.
