Today's #excerpt:
It was becoming increasingly clear to him why so many locals had mixed feelings about the visitors who kept the town in business while being annoying rotwits. He felt like yelling, “Get out of my way! I live here!” often enough he worried he was turning into a complete jerk. Or, perhaps, had always been one.
I had a deeply haunting and humbling dream last night.
In the dream, I was leaving an after-hours house party – a sub-nod to my past days as an eager night owl – at 4am with a group of friends dubbed the "experience scientists."
As we crossed through a public park, an attractive stranger approached me and, purposely rejected me but in doing so, offered the most blunt advice and valid criticisms of my character.
Then I woke up at 4am.
I made one of those cards! I don't understand anything about how cards work! I have never played MtG! No clue!
