We All Dive at the Yellow Submarine, Barbados

Diving in Barbados: This is what it's like diving the SS Stavronikita, the Pamir, & the yellow submarine - 3 of the best dives in Barbados!

An Adventurous World

Norman's Cay in the Bahamas was a base of operations for the Medellin drug cartel until it was raided and shut down in the 1980s. One the relics left behind is this plane that didn't make it to land and crashed into the shallow water nearby.

This site is about 20 feet deep and jam-packed with fish and critters, so it's a nice dive stop on a Bahamas trip. We had 9 divers about to splash, so I jumped in first and kicked over to get some clean shots before the group arrived. This was only my third dive with the fisheye lens, so I spent a lot of time playing with composition and lighting. I like how this one came out!

Ghost ship

The remains of a 17th-century Swedish navy shipwreck have resurfaced in #Stockholm. The wreck, hidden under water for hundreds of years, has been visible above the surface since early February due to unusually low Baltic Sea levels.

Fish swim around the underwater remains of the British cargo ship SS Thistlegorm, which was sunk by German aircraft in 1941 after being deployed to transport military supplies from England to Egypt during the second world war. The wreck, which is near Sharm El-Sheikh, is one of the Red Sea’s most popular diving spots, with armoured vehicles, torpedoes, Jeeps, rifles and Norton motorcycles on view.

The sinking of the liner "Le Liban" on June 7, 1903, one hour from the port of Marseille, was one of the greatest maritime disasters that the Phocaean city has ever known.

Today, the wreck of the 28-meter Lebanon lies at a depth of about 36 meters, the bow against the Farillons du large, the stern facing Tiboulen de Maïre. Well preserved, the wreck remains within reach of divers and the water is generally clear, as it is little stirred by the currents. There are multiple accesses, via the port of Cap Croisette, the port of Goudes or the port of Pointe Rouge. The wreck is home to abundant fauna and flora, placing this site among the most beautiful wreck dives in Provence.

How I took this photo: Isotta housing, GH5, 14 mm and 2 strobes Sea&Sea YS D1.
