This is Wordle 0x3FF. Tomorrow will be a nice round 0x400 or 1K if you're into the binary "metric" system. 🤣

I asked MS Copilot to explain. I quote:

The term “metric” in “metric system” comes from the Greek word “metron” which means "measure." However, the key aspect of the metric system that sets it apart from other systems of measurement is its base-10 or decimal structure.

The metric system was first developed in France during the French Revolution....

So, while “metric” does mean “measurement”, “metric system” refers to this specific system of measurement that uses a decimal structure. Other systems of measurement could technically be called “metric” in the sense that they involve measurement, but the term “metric system” has a specific historical and technical meaning related to its decimal structure and its origins in the French Revolution.

Vive la révolution informatique. 🤣
