En vän fyllde jämnt och då kan jag ju inte hålla fingrarna i styr. Den här gången blev det en Brandfilt, min tionde faktiskt kom jag fram till när jag räknade efter.
Hursomhelst, hon är också en aktiv viking så jag valde att låta dekorationsbroderierna avspegla det så att den kan pryda både hemmet och lägret.

A friend had a milestone birthday, and of course I couldn't keep my hands off the crafting. This time, it ended up being a fire blanket—my tenth one, actually, I realized when I counted.
Anyway, she's also an active Viking, so I chose to let the decorative embroidery reflect that, so it can adorn both her home and the camp.

Så... Ibland får jag bara ett sådant där otroligt sug efter att greppa nålen och brodera. Du vet hur det är va? Eller kanske inte. Men vissa tar en springtur för att rensa tankarna, andra bakar, och några andra sätter på musik på högsta volym för att rensa hjärnan. Och så har vi de gånger man behöver tröst, bara vill bädda in sig i en tröstefilt, äta tröstemat och se på en "feel good"-movie.
Låter det bekant?
Jag broderar. Eller virkar. Men just den här gången drogs jag till ett litet broderi, Enkelt, följa linjer och rensa huvudet från allt stim för en stund.

Så det blev en mesma. Jag gillar verkligen färgkombinationen i den här, men mer än något annat var det vägen som var det viktiga den här gången.

So… Sometimes I just get this incredible urge to grab the needle and start embroidering. You know how it is, right? Or maybe not. But some people go for a run to clear their minds, others bake, and some blast music at full volume to clear their heads.
And then there are those times when you need comfort, just want to wrap yourself in a comfort blanket, eat comfort food, and watch a feel-good movie.
Sound familiar?
Well, those times I embroider. Or crochet. But this time, I was drawn to a small embroidery project. Simple, just follow the lines and clear my head from all the noise for a while.

So I made a mesma. I really like the color combination in this one, but more than anything, it was the process that mattered this time.

What to do on a almost 6 hour train ride? Craft of course. I do embroidery, another passenger knits. Both to the calm noise of the train. In distance i hear snoring and a phonecall in low voice.

Ok, i admit, i couldn't resist do a second version of the mandala, but this time on a bag, and with some green in it. I used a polka dot dark raspberry cotton fabric as a lining and it works so good. Did i found this embroidery as lustful as the tea cozy? Yes i certainly did. Will i do more Mandalas? Yes i will! Will i do more bags? Yes on that too, but next bag will have some kind of closing function, and i do think about do a button closing thing on this one too, or just a zipper. We'll see.

Last picture is the picture i stumble on that inspired me to this choices of colors i used in this bag and also to the tea cozy earlier. Sorry to say i don't know the photographer and can't give them the credit they deserve. When i search for it i just come to an anonymous circle within Google Search. But whoever you are, you are really good and really inspirerad me!
