After fitting rockers. #woodworkers

Work is slowly getting along in reshaping the garage into an actual workshop. Been constantly thinking of different layouts for the one wall as to whether keeping the current setup but adding cabinets above the workbench area.

Thinking of putting in tall sliding cabinets for storage and have separate stations for the miter saw and table saw. This also includes building a mobile assembly table that all these things can be easily moved around and stored off to the side.

There are many who are asking "Where did all the #Forums go?" They're still out there for you to be part of.

One of them that I run is for the #IndependentCreators out there. From #WoodWorkers to #artist and more. Give it a look and let me know what you think, even better if you'll join the community.

Hey, all you #Woodworkers/#FurnitureMakers out there:

These were not on this table when movers put my stuff in storage. 9 months later, when they moved my stuff back into my place, these dings were there (plus some other new scratches).

At 1st I thought they were punch marks from something, but after taking these pix, it looks like dowels that have shrunk & took bits of the teak veneer with them.

Before I trash an otherwise decent piece of furniture, can this be fixed? If so, how do I do it?

Someone shared making it podcast with me, it's great, looking for others which are similar. #Creators, #geeks, #hackers, #woodworkers, #diy
I made these corner guides for myself and figured other #woodworkers might find them useful. Check it out if you're inclined. https://store.heartwoodandsteel.com/products/corner-guide-set?utm_source=copyToPasteBoard&utm_medium=product-links&utm_content=web
Corner Guide Set

General question for #woodworkers and artists. Do you get scammers inquiring about unfinished projects? I just posted an end grain board and have multiple inquiries about buying it. It feels a little fishy.

Hey, #woodworkers of Mastodon. Little help?

My next #DIY project is a bit daunting, a bit beyond my experience in wood shop.

I inherited a friend's ottoman after she moved overseas. The padded lid started sagging, so I pulled out some staples and looked beneath.

It's made of MDF (ETA: or chipboard?), which must've gone *crunch* when something too heavy weighed on it (could have been my kid, could have been the kids at the neighbours who were holding it for my friend after she moved).

Any #woodworkers out there, especially British ones who know what I mean when i say "I have a *small* garage workshop"...

Anyone got recommendations on cheap but functional electric thicknessers and planers for stock preparation?

I am tired of flattening, squaring, and thicknessing by hand with a 100+yr old hand-plane. But I don't have much space, and I don't do enough woodwork to warrant spending very much.

More a question of if there's anything worth bothering with given those constraints?

#Rowan aka #MountainAsh #tree #berries. Some birds feed on them. We have a tree that's been in our backyard since before our family bought our property in the early 90s.

There's also a big one growing at Welland Community Orchard too - they planted it there to boost pollination for one hybrid grafted fruit tree - one of the grafts are in the rowan family.

I harvest their berries to use for #PlantBased #NaturalDye making. They have high tannins in them.

#Woodworkers like the dense wood of rowan trees for carving/turning & making tool handles & walking canes.
