Maybe not the strangest place, but for decades, I knew this footbridge only as a footbridge. Seeing #BostonIvy reclaiming it so vigorously was mind-boggling – the steps are completely overgrown. And the autumn colours are absolutely spectacular!

"On that single disastrous day in November, between training on the track in the morning and racing in the afternoon, a total of six horses broke down, according to a report by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), which regulates horse racing in the province. Three required euthanasia." @nickhunebrown for The Local 📸 : Chloë Ellingson

Once a lucrative gambling business, Ontario's horse racing industry is now heavily subsidized by the government. As gamblers turn to online gaming, and ideas about animal welfare shift, a cluster of fatal horse injuries at Woodbine raises questions about the future of the sport.
