This very intersting documentary "Women in Science: The difficult road to becoming a professor" (in 🇩🇪) of 3sat nano portraits excellent female researchers and the challenges they are mastering. One of them is Casey Paquola, a neuroscientist who uses our supercomputers for her research.

🌳 Freiburger Juniorprofessorin Dr. Ana Stritih erhält für ihre Forschung zur Resilienz von Wäldern die Margarete von Wrangell-Förderung des Ministeriums für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst Baden-Württemberg. Gemeinsam mit Postdoc Dr. Christina Dollinger wird sie erforschen, wie sich die Wechselwirkungen von Mensch und Natur und ihre Auswirkungen auf die Widerstandsfähigkeit von Wäldern modellieren lassen.

🗨 „Ich freue mich, dass die Margarete von Wrangell-Förderung es uns ermöglicht, unsere Hypothesen zur sozialen Dimension der Waldresilienz experimentell zu testen. Wenn wir soziale Dynamiken in Waldmodelle integrieren, wird uns das helfen, wertvolle Instrumente für die Praxis zu entwickeln“, sagt Stritih.

💡Diese Forschung wird auch in den #Exzellenzcluster Future Forests an der Universität Freiburg einfließen, in dem Stritih als Principal Investigator mitwirkt.

ℹ️ Mit dem Margarete von Wrangell-Programm werden jedes Jahr zehn herausragende Wissenschaftlerinnen auf dem Weg zur Professur gefördert.
