AGI - Per la prima volta una donna allenerà in uno dei top 5 campionati d'Europa: si tratta Marie-Louise Eta a cui l'Union Berlino ha affidato la guida della squadra che milita nella Bundesliga. La 34enne di Dresda subentra a Steffen Baumgart, esonerato insieme al suo staff dopo la sconfitta per 3-1 sul campo della cenerentola Heidenheim.
Eta, già tecnico dell'U19, era stata scelta per guidare la prima squadra femminile del club nella prossima stagione ma ora dovrà tentare la difficile missione di evitare la retrocessione del club della capitale nelle cinque partite rimaste contro un'altra pericolante, il Wolfsburg.

Già nel 2023 era diventata la prima viceallenatrice nel campionato tedesco e nei principali cinque tornei europei. "È un piacere che Marie-Louise Eta abbia accettato questo incarico ad interim prima di assumere il ruolo previsto in estate alla guida della prima squadra femminile", ha affermato il direttore sportivo Horst Heldt.
