Playing Wolfenstein 3D with one hand in 2026

Over three decades later, this historical curiosity has more than a few rough edges…

Bunch of kinda criticisms of Wolf 3D in this piece here, but also some interesting insights on playing one handed by using the mouse with sensitivity turned up fully (and of course using a map). I'm so used to keyboard, but thinking now, when I played it on a Mac in the 90s, I may have messed with using a mouse for it some.

I just tried "Wolfenstein - The New Order" for the first time. It's actually the very first Wolfenstein I've every played.

There's a distinct lack of wolves!

It feels...mostly like Doom (2016), gameplay wise.

Usually I'm not a big fan of such straight-forward shooters, but well, I guess being able to kill Nazis does provide quite some motivation. 😁

Also, being German, it's, as with all WW2 shooters, realistic or not, always kinda fun to actually understand all the German voices and texts in game without the game's translation.

So, yeah. Not too special so far, but killing Nazis is good.
