I was switching instances before this as my situation dictates I need a supportive community in that regard. As a trans woman, I'm marginalised, ridiculed and used as a political pawn. See #wokeagenda and #uksupremecourtruling.
I'm disappointed in the comments that I see about this is a FOSS instance not politics. If the FOSS community is that short sighted then feel free to block me and move on. I'll miss Fosstodon but not the #broligarchy and I don't mean everyone btw.

If Peter Dutton — tireless campaigner against the "woke agenda" — wants the government to collect information on who's LGBTQIA+ and who's cis-het, then I have strong concerns about what he would do if he got his hands on the information. Therefore, I think it's a safe precaution to leave that question off the census in case he ever becomes our country's leader and has the opportunity to go full-on fascist despot.
