The Big Silent is a work in which the tissue of a grand piano body is put into glass jars in an effort of softening what has become sedimented, rendering ab/(para)normalities; the piano malleus, nails, fingers, hooves etc.
The 88 piano parasites were extracted from the inside of a grand piano (from A0-C8) during a public dissection that took place in march 2023.
How to soften what has become sedimented inhabiting Western musical instruments?
Approaching instruments as haunted and parasitic critical sites with the capacity to embed themselfes in you, play you, oversaturate your horizon and in the end consume you.
