Another day, another beautiful winter sunset, with a helping hand from the lens glare of the phone camera lens.
Pictures from the garden today, looking out over the Plateau du Cézallier, with the Sancy range to the far right of frame, and still desperately snowless. The provisional 15-day forecast at the moment indicates likely snow for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. We shall see!

On my recent drive just outside of the town I was met with two beautiful things a great sunset and a great horned owl 🦉. It was getting too dark so I could only capture a silhouette. But the scene was much like from an old time scary movie, a spooky tree, owl and coyotes howling at a distance.

It may suck royally in summer to get the afternoon heat, and in winter to be extra freezing in the morning, but being able to see sunsets like this out of my bedroom window (especially when I’m in bed on a Long Covid crash day) pretty much makes up for it.

I’m no great photographer so it looks so much more beautiful in person.

I’m also extra grateful because this time last year I was still begging the landlord to cut back the tree that was covering 3/4 of my second storey window.
