Tech question. The small charity I support has a scan snap Fujitsu scanner S1300. Support for this machine is discontinued. I have found and downloaded a driver but I can’t get ScanManager to work. Is there a good generic/open source solution? My Pc is on #Windows10

This morning, I made a post, reporting, among other things, that this computer has been updated four times in two days. (Once by Norton, three times by Windows) I just got a message saying that Windows is going to update this computer again - AGAIN! - in the overnight. Sometime after Windows 7, Windows management and staff seemed to get the idea that we buy computers mainly for them and hardly at all for our own use. Getting at our computers almost constantly is insanity - Windows insanity. The guy who posts under "Linux Is Best" is right.
