Elmar Billen@die_connie Ich habe in der letzten Zeit mehrere Laptops von #windows10 auf Linux umgestellt und kann Linux Mint durchaus empfehlen (auch wenn ich beruflich eher mit #SUSE und #RedHat zu tun habe).
Bei Fragen hier am besten den Hashtag #linux mit aufnehmen (oder gerne auch mich taggen).

Ein #Windows10 Rechner aus der Familie ist final in die Knie gegangen und hat wohl Teile (~1%) der Windows Partition auf der SSD zerlegt. Eventuell ist auch die GPU gestorben, muss im Grunde nicht ersetzt werden, beim Booten kommen Meldungen von wegen Hardware hat sich geändert. Windows Installations-/Recovery USB Images zeigen erst Windows Logo beim Laden, dann aber nur bläulicher Hintergrund und Mouse (Sprachausgabe geht per Tastatur), sonst keinerlei Menü.

Damien MalcolmHad fun last night. My son wanted to stream a show on our #linuxmint #windows dual boot PC. #Linux was having a little kernal issue related to lack of disk space; easy fix, but not just before bedtime, so I just booted to windows as a stopgap. Surprise! #windows10 had done some unwanted update, installed that evil #Copilot AI spyware, taken over my boot process and greyed out the pause update option. The bloody nerve! We hadn't used windows for months, so that was the cataylist to finally flush #microsoft for good. Been up since 5am; just wiped the partition and given it to LinuxMint. Now for deleting those pesky boot menu options....
