On a lighter point from my other posts so far today, I not only saw my first bumblebee of the year, I also found my first frog spawn on my lunchtime dog walk around Victoria Park in Glasgow. Both are good signs Spring is finally here.

Roe deer amongst the gravestones in Sighthill Cemetery in Glasgow this morning. Opened in 1840, on what was, until then, farmland, it's typical of the garden cemeteries created in the Victorian era, which were designed as much for the the living to visit as they were a final resting place for the dead. Even now, garden cemeteries like this one provide a tranquil green space in the city, as well as an oasis for wildlife.

First crocuses of the year spotted on this morning's dog walk at Bingham's Pond in the west of Glasgow. It might not seem like it quite yet, but Spring is coming!

The first geese of the Autumn flying south over Glasgow. Over the next few weeks, countless skeins of migrating geese will pass above the city. Usually its their sharp, slightly other-worldly cries that first alerts you to their presence, then you look up and see their dark silhouettes against the sky.

A newt stranded on the footpath alongside the Forth and Clyde Canal Glasgow that I can across on my run this morning. I moved it into the grass at the side, but at least two others I saw weren't so lucky. Not too sure if there's anything that can be done to prevent it, but it's quite a common occurence along this tow path.
