This photograph is of the Calafate fruit. This fruit is native to Chilean and Argentine Patagonia, it is a thorny bush with evergreen leaves. Ancestrally, the calafate has been collected and used by communities due to its medicinal properties and high nutritional value.
This fruit is a true symbol of places like Punta Arenas and Aysén, in Chile. Whoever eats calafate, will return.
