Male Comb Duck (Sarkidiornis sylvicola, formerly Sarkidiornis melanotos) standing on the ground amidst tall green grasses and reeds, beside a mossy log. It has a large black fleshy knob at the base of its upper bill, a key characteristic of adult males. Its plumage is striking, with an iridescent dark green and purple sheen on the wings, black-speckled white on the neck and chest, and dark grey on the underparts.
