"The Lavender Guard Band is music performance ensemble of LGBTQIA+ woodwind & brass players, percussionists, and color guard/dancers in the Willamette Valley area of Oregon. Our goals are to increase opportunities for community building and positive representation of LGBTQIA+ people through creative expression. We are just starting as an ensemble, so you can imagine that there are a lot of costs involved! We need to buy music to play, licensing to be able to perform them at events, uniforms so that we look sharp, color guard flags, and various other equipment.

In order to make this group as accessible as possible, we also work together with musicians without their own instruments to help rent or purchase one for them to borrow and participate with.

All of this adds up rather quickly and surpasses what a handful of humble queer folks can scrape together from savings. That's where you come in! You can help us gather the resources we need by donating what you can or simply just sharing this within your circles and communities.
